Coat Types & Characteristics

These pictures show the different coats types and characteristics that we are seeing in the SC
Curlys.  All of the pictures used here are from SC Curlys that have tested hypoallergenic.

The terms used for the SC Curlys are:  bf - bunny fur is a plush coat type; vs - visibly straight; mc -
minor curl patches of curl or wave here or there
Foxy Roxy, Brush creek Curlys,
feels like cotton, very thick, lots
of waves, some small curls on
flank area.  mc Curly
Manny Silver Haze, Brush Creek
Curlys, soft, never gets super
thick, waves, on neck and in
mane, coat glistens.  mc Curly
Suzy Q, Brush Creek Curlys, hair is
very thin, gets long hairs over coat in
the winter but is never thick, curved
eyelashes, curly fetlocks. vs Curly
Manny's Misty Dawn, Brush Creek
Curlys, very thick and soft , waves on
neck back and fuzzy wavy ears. mc Curly

on his back, lots of waves on the backs of

Below is a list of observations we have made on the SC
Curlys.  Plus they are hypoallergenic!!

1. Curved upper or lower lashes
2. Curled fetlocks
3. Curled hair on the backs of the legs
4. Kinked or curved guard hairs
5. Spirals in the tail
6. Big curls in the mane when it is growing out (usually will     
       pull out with the mane or keep a little wave)
7. Very fuzzy (an abundance of) ear hair
8. Very silky
9.  Feel like cotton (not silky but very soft and thick)
10. Waves or small curls in isolated areas
11. Bunny fur (hair that stands straight up)
